Nick Vest

Nick Vest is a practicing artist based in Jingdezhen, China, and co-proprietor of MenLo Gallery and Studio. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he earned his MFA from Kansas State University and his BFA from Alfred University. Vest has been a resident artist at the Shangyu Celadon Modern International Ceramic Art Center, The Gaya Ceramic Art Center, and The Qionglai Ceramic Center, among others. Vest was a resident artist at the American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA) from September 2022 through March 2023.

I didn’t mean to come here; I "knew" about Jingdezhen, of course, about blue and white pots and porcelain, but I’ve never been a person in love with clay in THAT way.
